2018 Annual General Meeting Resolutions Results

The 2018 Annual General Meeting of the College was held on October 21, 2018. Thank you to the 199 registrants who participated, either in-person or by proxy, and thank you as well to the eight participants who joined by webcast.

Three resolutions were voted on and below are the results of the votes:

Resolution #1

Names of all committee members and their corresponding years at the position should be disclosed on the CTCMA website.

Approved.

Resolution #2

Whenever a committee position becomes available, the announcement should also be posted on its website and/or emailed to all the registrants.

Approved.

The Board will examine these recommendations at future meetings and provide further information regarding implementation where appropriate.

Resolution #3

Whereas: In the mover’s opinion Section 57.1 contradicts the College's mandate of protecting the public interest, and;

Whereas: In the mover’s opinion the College has deemed it to be essential for public safety that any active practicing registrant needs to maintain minimal patient contacts and continuing education hours, and;

Whereas: In the mover’s opinion Section 57.1 appears to be designed specifically for the past registrar Mary Watterson,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Bylaw 57.1 be deleted from the College Bylaws.

Defeated.

With the failure of this resolution, s. 57.1 of the Bylaws remains unchanged. The College is committed to consider the recommendations raised during the debate of this resolution in the coming months and will inform all registrants of any changes which may arise from the consideration.
