In the province of British Columbia, a person must hold registration with the College to practice traditional Chinese medicine and to use the title "acupuncturist", "doctor of traditional Chinese medicine", "traditional Chinese medicine herbalist" and "traditional Chinese medicine practitioner".
Under the Health Professions Act, the College's legal obligation is to protect the public and ensure the safety of patients. The role of the College is to ensure traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists meet the standards established by the College. This includes setting standards of practice, assessing education programs in the province, and addressing complaints regarding registrants.
To find a registrant or verify if a practitioner is registered, please use the Public Registry.
